Love for good craftsmanship and contemporary designs are the hallmarks of Lene Holme Samsøe's fantastic creative power, which includes sweaters, cardigans, slipovers and much more for both children and adults. For numerous years, the designer has crafted patterns for various magazines and yarn companies, even releasing books through both Danish and international publishers. The extensive experience of producing numerous patterns has provided a wealth of insights into the art of creating exceptional patterns.
Her designs are based on a Scandinavian tradition, but embrace everything from delicate lace patterns, structured and multicoloured knits to beautiful, simple stockinette with exciting details and interesting constructions.
The patterns are presented in a clear and comprehensible manner, so that beginner knitters as well as experienced knitters can participate.
On her website she writes: “Making is part of being human and knitting is an effective and easy tool for managing daily stress in a busy everyday life. Therefore, it is important to me that my knitting patterns are thoroughly processed so you can relax and enjoy knitting without having to worry about mistakes.”

Her very popular Dahlia, Ella and Peacock series have gorgeous lace constructed yokes. Below you can see super knitter @strikkerenate beautiful version of Peacock Shirt using Drops Belle. She omitted the sleeves to give the top a more summery feel. @StrikkerIE knitter the Summer Ella top with its delicate leaf pattern using Drops Belle as well.
Drops Belle is made from a wonderful mix of cotton, viscose and linen and is a fantastic all-year yarn that breathes well, has a delicate texture and shine, and it’s perfect to wear directly on the skin.
Lastly, the very popular Chunky Dahlia has been knitted here using a combination of one strand of Drops Air and Kid-Silk. The knitted sweater is incredibly light and soft, yet so warm to wear.
Happy knitting!
